Solved: Avast antivirus and Comodo firewall, a good combination?
A few months ago, my mother bought herself a new laptop and at first she used the free Norton trial for antivirus and firewall protection until it expired, then used the trial version of Kaspersky, which is about to expire. I was thinking about downloading Avast antivirus on to her laptop for her, but as far as I know, it doesn't have a firewall, so I was thinking of also downloading the Comodo firewall.

So my question is this: is Avast antivirus with Comodo firewall a good combination? are they compatible? And do they work well on a laptop? I have heard of some laptops having problems running Avast so I'm not 100% sure about using it, and I'm not sure if there are any compatibility issues between Avast antivirus and Commodo firewall, so that's why I am asking.

I appreciate any help or opinions on this.

GM:

Make sure that Norton and Kaspersky are both removed from that computer before you try to install Alwil Avast.

Use the Norton removal tool to remove Norton.

I'm not sure if Kaspersky has a removal tool.

Thanks for the help. Once the Kaspersky trial expires (which has a week or so left on it) I'll remove it and give Avast and Comodo a shot.

Avast is one of our favorite Free Antivirus Versions out there. All of our clients and I personally use and recommend. Let us know how the combination with the comodo firewal goes with you.
