Unhappy Problem with Microsoft Security Centre
Hi Guys. This is my first post on this wonderful site and I am looking forward to help and guidence from administrators, senior members and all others members. I have an HP Pavillion dv6258se laptop which I generally use. It has Vista OS with is fully updated with the all updates. My problem is that while I have AVG Antivirus version 8.5.420 installed on the laptop, the Micorsoft Security Centre (MSC)constantly states that I have a security problem relating to the antivirus. The MSC does not detect the antivirus. This issue surfaced a few days ago. Could it be related to the fact that I downloaded and installed a program named Auslogics Boostspeed version 4.5 ? While it does not effect the working of my laptop but I get irritated looking at the alert at the bottom right corner of my screen. Any siggestions to solve the problem would be appreciated. Thanks

Does the Security Center give you an option to check a box that you will monitor your own anti virus protection?

Hi Wgman 21 and thanks for responding. Yes, there is a check box but even checking it off does not help. The standard alert boxes come up asking me if I want to do the action or not. When I say yes, nothing happens.

dixidic:

Do not install any program that claims to boost, optimize, or clean your computer and make it run faster and better.

And never ever install and use a registry cleaner.
