CCleaner says that I have 2 'corrupt and unreadable' folders
Hello,

I've run CCleaner.exe numerous times this week and each time a caption pops up on the lower right hand screen. The first one says "C:\ProgramData\avg8\scanlogs is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utility" and the other one says "C:\Users\toshiba\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\TemporaryInternetFiles\Co ntent.IE5\2F0BYF07 is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utilty".

I ran the chkdsk utility (I've got Vista so I typed "chkdsk" into the start menu search function). But when I click on "chkdsk," it opens for a half-second and then disappears. It seems nothing happens.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Thanks

I suggest that you stop using CCleaner, especially the registry cleaner, before you trash your computer.

Hi, thank you for the input. I was not aware that CCleaner was harmful. I use it a few times a week (usually). Any particular reason why it is harmful for the computer?
