Spybot
When completing a Search & Destroy scan and I get ready to remove all problems, it does not execute. What is the reason for this? I've removed this antivirus software many times but it continues to have the same problem. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
richncali

Spybot - Search & Destroy is NOT an anti-virus program. It's designed for detecting and removing malware and spyware.

Get rid of it and replace it with 2 better and more user-friendly ones:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.41

SUPERAntiSpyware 4.29.0.1002

Yes, they're free, but you have the option of buying the pay version if you want it.

The free version doesn't provide "real time" scanning. You have to start them and do a manual scan with them. That works fine for most users. I update and do a manual scan with them about once a week.

Click the green icon at the links that I provided so you'll be assured of downloading the correct program and the most current version.

I am still having a problem even after installing your anti-virus software...when trying to fix my problems in Spybot, my hourglass always freezes. What is causing this and is there a cure?
Thanks,

The 2 links that I provided you with are anti-malware/anti-spyware programs. They are not anti-virus programs.

I suggested that you get rid of Spybot. If you want to keep using it, that's your choice.

Do you know how to post a HijackThis log here?

Go here and click the green icon to download HijackThis 2.0.2.

Close all open windows and then install it in its default location: C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.

Run a scan with it - which will take 30 seconds or less.

Save the resulting log in Notepad.

Return here and then copy-and-paste the entire log here.
