Exclamation Used company computer(Software restriction policy)
We bought a used lapptop from someone who used it for a company he worked for. When i try to open programs such as Limewire the software restriction policy doesnt allow it to run.Im asuming that it does this since the account we where given with the computer does not have full rights to run programs.I need to know how to disable this so programs may be runable.
Thank you.

First of all, please do not mention P2P software like Limewire on this forum. We do not offer support for it as per TSG's rules.

Quote:
P2P Instructions - We do not support P2P file sharing applications and any threads requesting help for such will be closed. This includes Torrents, Kazaa, LimeWire, RapidShare, Pirate Bay, and the like. If you're interested in the topic, you are free to discuss it on our site (and please visit StealingIsIllegal.com), but information on how to use them will not be provided.
Second, you might need to reformat and install a fresh copy of whichever Operating System you have in order to be able to use the computer at will.

We cannot offer any support for circumventing any company policy nor for retrieving passwords.

Quote:
Passwords - Please do not ask for assistance with forgotten passwords and/or bypassing them. As there is no way to verify the actual situation and/or intentions, no assistance will be provided and any such threads will be closed.
Please read the rules before posting again.

Thank you for understanding.

I agree. If you bought that computer in used condition from someone else, you need to format the hard drive and then do a fresh install of the operating system.

You really don't want to use a computer with all the crap from the previous owner.

what he said.

as this breaks at least 2 of the rules for the forum, I'm going to close this one up with the advice as it is and recommend you read the rules page.
