Solved: Inspect, Detect & Disinfect computer with no internet access
My neighbor has asked me to help him "fix" his computer. He has no internet access at this time and probably won't be getting any anytime soon. It is a middle aged Compaq Presario with XP - I don't know much more about it yet. He tells me that he took it to a shop and they told him that it was "infected" and they wanted $$$ to repair it - which he does not have. I would like to help him out - he's a great gardener and a very good neighbor. I was wondering if there was any software that you folks would recommend for diagnostic/disinfection that I could put on a 2gig thumb drive and run without having to get definition updates downloaded to his machine from online.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations and advice!
