Thumbs down Solved: Security problems-
I have Windows Vista, for antivirus I had been using Symantec, which I had a problem with recently. It continued to mess up so I decided to uninstall and reinstall, which ddn't completely work,it would not entirely reinstall because it said it wasn't comptible with Vista and won't uninstall now because I accidentally deleted the uninstall program when I deleted the extra icons. My problem is this, I can't completely uninstall the symantec antivirus program so I can't install a new one either. Please help!

Thanks,
Ambjor Anderson

Symantec Norton can be a bear to uninstall and get rid of its stray files and registry entries.

Go here and download the Norton Removal Tool.

Close all open windows, then run the tool.

Restart your computer after it's done.

Unless you're insistent on using Symantec Norton, there are plenty of good anti-virus programs out there. And some of them are free.

The top 3 in this list are free and are the most popular ones.

If you prefer a "paid" anti-virus program, Eset NOD32 gets good reviews in these forums.
