combofix
I have been advised to download and use combofix. The advice msg included instructions, but it seems a rather complicated procedure. As I am very inexperienced with computers and my knowledge is very limited, can anyone advise if I should or should not use this download. The last thing I want to do is open a can of worms, or get into a situation that I cant get out of.

Hi,
Don't try Combofix unless you are an expert.
Post a HijackThis log following this guide from TSG:
http://forums.techguy.org/malware-re...st-before.html

and then wait for expert help.

Thank you gents for replying. I have sent a system report to the malware expert, and it was him that advised to download combofix. He included instructions, but it seems very complicated. I dont think its something I should attempt on my own.

Well, ask him questions about what you don't understand. At this point, he's the one you should address this issue to, and not to anybody else on the forum. The instructions he gave you were pretty clear though.

Sorry if I have broken any type of protocol. But I did explain I was very new and inexperienced, and his response was "then take it to a repair shop" Fair comment I suppose, but expected a little more help than that.

I have read your instructions regarding combo fix, it appears far to complicated for me to attempt. I would not know how to shut down the various spywear which I have installed. I think I would be too frightened to do this.
Ask him precise questions and I'm sure he'll be willing to answer. He's asking you to trust him on this but yet, you're hesitating. You'll have to follow his instructions if you want to resolve this without having to take your computer to a repair shop.
