Downloading AV software to memory pen
Just completed my first home build and before it gets anywhere near connected to the internet I need to install an anti-virus. We already have 3 computers on an AVG licence so will use something free like Avast to begin with before upgrading to something else.

Question is, how do I download onto memory pen? I have done it before, but don't seem to be able to do it now.

go onto one of the PCs that connectedto the internet
download the program to anywhere on the PC - or direct to USB pendrive
if onto the PC - copy across to pendrive

can you describe the issues you have

Neither Avast or AVG would work, you only get a download manager file of around 300-800k. Avast wouldn't install and AVG took too long.
Eventually got Avira to work, it is the full download. So that is now installed along with Sunbelt Kerio firewall. Running XP Home on the new build.
Next job to connect to the internet and I'm sure I will run into more problems!!

if you scroll down this page
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
you will see all the different languages for avast
english is 36.99MB
you can then download the latest updates 28.76MB
http://www.avast.com/eng/updates.html
and rhen you have a full upto date virus program before ever going on internet

Thanks for that, have now downloaded Avast as couldn't get Avira to update, seems they have a bit of a problem with their updating.
