ARRRRGGGHH Help Me please
Hello, This computer was running fine until earlier today when I installed some anti-virus software on it. The anti-virus software I have is the F-Secure Internet security, I have also downloaded C-Cleaner to keep it in tip top shape. This however seems to have the opposite effect, I now have trouble with internet explorer, which doesn't start up unless I run it in Administrator and when I go on my hotmail the thing freezes up and opens dozens of windows of internet explorer, I have had to download Firefox to get around this. The computer has since the installing of the virus scan been having difficulty loading up but this is easy to side step. Any help at all would be massivley appreciated. I've ran my security programs many times but to no avail. Please Please help me someone

Did you run the registry cleaner part of CCleaner? If you did, it was a big mistake. CCleaner usually creates backups of these so called "clean-ups". You should try recovering the backup.

Please click here to download and install the HijackThis installer.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Do not fix anything

Are you able to open Internet Explorer normally after booting in Safe Mode with Networking?

If so, then try a Clean Boot to isolate a culprit.

It might well be F-Secure settings that you'll need to configure properly, or perhaps a bad installation...

I've not tried the safe mode yet, and also whats a clean boot? I just used the automatic settings when I installed it rather than choosing my own. Thank you very much for your help I'll do the safe mode now.

Hello, doing the Clean Boot seemed to solve the internet explorer problem, but what does this mean? does it mean a certain program is causing the problem and how do I know which one?

Yes, running a Clean Boot was to determine which program wa the culprit.
