AVG Resident Shield Next Move Question
Hi,
AVG paid version Resident Shield running on our son's Vista Home machine produced two alerts: TrojanDownloader.Generic9.CKV and .CLH.
The CKV is associated with C:\Windows\msa.exe and the CLH is associated with C:\Users\Dixie\AppData\Local\Temp\b.exe.
We disconnected the machine from the internet and have not done anything yet. Options on Resident Shield are" Remove Selected Infections, Remove All Unhealed Infections or Close.
There are about 30 of these showing up in the Alert window. One says "moved to the vault", all others say "infected".
So I don't waste anyone's time here, I sent an email support question to AVG, but it's the weekend, so I'm posting this to see if it's a quick fix for us. It sounds like AVG won't be getting back to us until Monday.
Please advise to wait for AVG or try and fix ourselves.
Thanks in advance

I dont see your question....
But heres your options:
1. remove them if you can,
2. move them to the virus vault.
3. Leave them (not Recommended)
I recomend you Install
Malware Bytes
Do a full scan then report back.
regards
Neb.

Thanks. I got tangled up asking AVG for help. Have been sending diag files etc back and forth with them and my patience is running out. I've always come here for help, and got it, but since this was on my son's Vista machine, I figured I would try AVG since I'm paying for it. I know little or nothing about Vista. I still may end up back here. I'll give them a couple more days. Thanks again for your input.
