Does av-test make own antivirus tests ?
Hello,

I would like to know if av-test (http://www.av-test.org/index.php) make own antivirus tests ? I was looking at their page but I can't find anything and there is not e.mail address to contact with them.

Regards,

You have been asking similar questions for weeks! What gives? Why so insecure?

You have received a lot of information so far. You have all you need for peace of mind:
  • ESET Smart Security or simply NOD32 AV
  • Kaspersky
  • BitDefender
  • Online-Armor, Comodo or Outpost firewalls
  • Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • SuperAntiSpyware
  • Dr.Web LinkChecker
  • WOT
  • Online scanners from ESET, Kaspersky, BitDefender...
  • And more...
Stay away from porn sites, don't practice illegal file sharing, don't open e-mails from unknown senders, especially with attachments and links, and keep Windows and all your security programs updated. Simply use common sense when browsing the Web and you should be OK.

The answer is not related completely to the question.
It is necesary to change Techguy phrase to:

'There`s no such thing as a stupid question, but they're the easiest to answer...and sometimes the answer seems to be more stupid that the question'

Ah, I see... you were asking about something else.

You want to know what they use to test with- I don't think the company would let you examine whatever they have developed unless you are a customer....

http://www.pcworld.com/article/15815...rotection.html <<<Here is the results of the testing of some antivirus suites they did for PC World

Cross Reference List of Virus Names
2009-05-29

Each vendor of anti-virus software has a different naming convention and the same virus can have a completely different name in another company's product. We created a cross-reference list of all virus names (604 KB) based on the WildList 04/2009 in order to avoid further confusion.

PC World Test Results of 2009 Internet Security Suites Are Out
2009-01-23

For the article "Top Internet Security Suites: Paying for Protection" published in the PC World magazine, we've tested nine brand-new programs in the areas of malware detection and removal, (outbreak) response times, size of the updates, performance (incl. scan speed), rootkit defense, the behaviour-based protection (HIPS) and issues related to false positive testing. An overview of the results and links to the individual reviews of the tested products can be found in the chart "Top Internet Security Suites" at the PC World website.

I don't see why you had a problem finding that- all I did was click the links at the pages at the AV-test.org site

I was looking in this site for something like:

Test results of this month (ranking):

1. .....
2. ....

But I see they publish their results in magazines so I should look for them there.
