Kaspersky Protection disabled suddenly
Last night everything seemed fine, this morning Kaspersky Internet Protection 8, was grayed out, so I updated, so it seemed, Still it said,
Database corrupt, restarted computer but : Resume Protection, is grayed out.
I ran Malwarebytes, that didn't find anything wrong.
In my Hijack this I didn't see anything different than usually.

So I decided to find out what my problem is, on another laptop. As always, I first updated Kaspersky and couldn't believe my eyes,
now this laptop is also grayed out Kaspersky, Resume Protection grayed out, update also says, corrupted and to activate Kaspersky.

Now there is absolute no correlation between both laptops, no USB anything was plugged in.
System restore does not fix anything. And Kaspersky doesn't expire till next year.

Any help appreciated,

XP

I don't know if 8 has the option but I would try rolling back to the previous database. There may be a problem with it that will be fixed and you can try the update again later.

Dear cookiegal,
Thank you for the kind words and concern. Yes, i really missed all of you. I guess my days in general security forum are numbered as i have comfortably shifted to Fedora 11(soon Fedora 12) on my Toshiba l 300 satellite note book. My desktop is going the Linux way too, but i don't know when!

Dear phantom010,
Thank you! Man, did i miss you all like nobody's business or what! Jumbo, with so many fractured bits in his leg was able to put a laptop on his tummy and be in touch with TechGuy where as I was feeling so drained and depressed with my ailment, i was ready to give up the Ghost! It's a teenage killer, this juvenile Diabetes. I was reading the debate on health reforms in USA and could not beleive that ONE THOUSAND AND FIVE HUNDRED FOLKS ARE DIAGNOSED EVERY WEEK THERE TO HAVE DIABETES!Mamma mia!
