Logging on with Hardware
Logging on with Hardware (2 web pages).

Many users like using devices for authentication. But is it safe?

The take away from this article for me is that hardware authentication services may be a good idea, but as pointed out, cloud services and hardware authentication are works-in-progress (my term) that need adoption and refinement. I take that to mean that I should wait until those schemes are secure enough to trust before even considering the thought of using such a service.
