What do I delete?
Good evening....
MS Vista 32 bit-Dell Inspiron 1521

Reader's Digest version: I know there are processes that should not be running. Have done my homework with netstat commands, task manager etc....

Problem: I am not sure what to delete...thoughts?

Are you wanting to uninstall some programs, or are you wanting to reduce the startup load, or are you wanting to do both?

Do you know how to post a HijackThis log here?

Go here and click the green icon to download HijackThis 2.0.2.

Close all open windows, then install it in its default location: C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.

Run a scan with it - which will take 30 seconds or less.

Save the resulting log in Notepad.

Return here, then copy-and-paste the entire log here.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Start HijackThis.

Click on the "Open The Misc Tools Section" button.

Click on the "Open Uninstall Manager" button.

Click the "Save List" button.

Save the "uninstall_list.txt" file somewhere. It'll then open in Notepad.

Return here, then copy-and-paste the entire file here.

McAfee appears to be your antivirus program, but there's also evidence of Symantec Norton in that computer.

Go here and click one of the USA links to download Norton Removal Tool. Just download it and save it for now and don't do anything with it yet.

I'm getting ready to go off-line for the night, so I'll look at your uninstall list(which isn't posted yet) in the morning, then we'll go from there.
