I have picked up a virus today - and computer goes slow.
Task manager shows " a.exe" taking loads of CPU time.

I have installed HJT, and when I run it, it starts, then nothing. I have not used HJT before, but guess it should stay on screen for me to see the report/ and copy?

When I try to run HJT now, it says it can't locate it or that I might not have privelages (I am the administrator)
I cannot now start Avast for the same reason.
I cannot now start Spybot - search and destroy for the same reason.
I can start other programs.

Another symptom is that random webpages either try to open or I get directed away from what I click on in Google ( including Techguy )

The only other computer I have here is SATA, the infected PC is PATA - I'm not sure how contagus the infection is to put into someone else's PC.

Any ideas please
