Followed instructions in older post to get ad aware not to start up each time and slow my computer. It still does it. Really annoying. any other suggestions?

Click on Start > Run > type msconfig.

Under the Startup tab, uncheck the entry(ies) related to Ad-Aware.

Reboot.

Get rid of Lavasoft Ad-Aware and replace it with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware.

Once or twice a month, get Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware up-to-date, then run a quick scan with them, then select and remove EVERYTHING they find, then restart. Doing that will keep malware and spyware in check.

Now that you've uninstalled Lavasoft Ad-Aware, go into the C:\Program Files folder and delete the Lavasoft folder - if it's still there.
