Please someone help me to correct the following pop up on my Vista laptop.

A system change was made by a known application.

Change type: Application Execution

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults:

Click on Start > Programs > Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

Type (or paste) netsh winsock reset catalog in the command prompt.

Please click here to download and install the HijackThis installer.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Do not fix anything

Download and save it where ever you want.

You should get the program in your Start menu programs.

You'll also find it in C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.

I should have said in my last message that while installing Hijack I was asked what path to take. As I do not know much being a novice I panicked and cancelled. I have decided to leave the pop up as it is as I am frightened I do more harm than good. Also if I get another choice for what to do next I will not know the answer.
Thank you very much for trying to solve my problem
