Unable to connect to internet
Please help i cannot connect to internet explorer!

I am getting the error message

Check the Firewall settings for HTTP port 80, HTTPs port 443 and FTP port 21.

My isp has assured me everything is okay back to my machine so must be a problem on my end.

Thanks

And you posted your message using FireFox or another browser? I have yet to see IE give that error message, usually it just gives a white page with a button saying "Diagnose Connection Problem".

Thanks for your reply. Used a different computer to post. This problem is addressed by Microsoft but it is beyond my skill levels

Try downloading Firefox (at www.mozilla.com) on your second computer and installing it on the one that's not working. Maybe that will let you access the internet.

You should also do a virus scan. Update it first. ( if the virus signature update fails then its a bigger problem )

Lastly, download HijackThis from http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/ . Run it and it will present a log in notepad. Copy the paste the log into your next message. Don't ask HijackThis to fix anything yet.
