It protects within Firefox well? I know some MS services once were unfriendly to non-MS products.

You also wrote previously that I had traces of ITunes, but I couldn't find anything in Add/Remove programs. Are these traces a problem? Can they be deleted?

Any problem with the EventViewer multiple warnings reported previously?

The Apple Software and Bonjour were the iTunes traces.

Firefox provides basic scanning of files as they are downloaded, any threat that makes it past that should be caught by the antivirus running on the system. AVG's Toolbar's and LinkScanners seem to be over the top and affect performance negatively, especially on older and slower computers such as yours.

Two of the Event Log entries are from MSE, just update errors, its posts any messages to the Event Log rather than an internal log. Probably nothing to worry if its updates successfully.

Try this for the TCP error: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sup...cpip&LCID=1033

On the TCP Error it has... "a warning that a malicious program or a virus might be running on the system. To troubleshoot the issue, find the program that is responsible for the failing connection attempts..."

Should I try to troubleshoot this as instructed now or when the computer "acts up"?

Attached are the active connections according to Netstat -no, per the link you included. I didn't see any TCP state of SYN_SENT. Maybe you can see something else of concern, I don't know. I'll do this again if it bogs down again.

You may have to wait til the warning occurs again.

Just to check something, can you open, update(very important), and run a FULL MalwareBytes scan?

Attached are the new active connections according to Netstat -no from this morning. I didn't see any TCP state of SYN_SENT. BUT the list of TCP items sure has grown, quadrupled from 4.9K to 19.5 K. Maybe you can see something else of concern.

The disk error is likely for a flash drive or USB HDD, if so its probably nothing really to worry about. Occasional Time Errors are nothing to worry about either.

Are you still running BitTorrent, thats common for a high number of connections.

Yes T6, I run BitTorrent at night. Anything wrong with the sticker Rolf?

In general, things are running a tad better. I was also going to try a few of these measures...

You can try tweaking Firefox, it may indeed help. Also you could give Google Chrome a try, I've pretty much exclusively switched to Chrome now.

The disk warnings, could those be indications of possible drive failure? That would be a nightmare. Would the warnings point to any specific drive?

Any idea on this?
