Question Bought a new Custom built PC - Won't recognize monitor

I bought and built a new custom PC with the following specs:

1 x Cooler Master - Elite 330 Chassis
1 x Intel - Core™ i5-2500K Processor, 3.30GHz w/ 6MB Cache
1 x Arctic Cooling - Freezer 13 CPU Cooler
1 x Asus - P8H61-M Rev 3.0 w/ Dual DDR3 1333, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, PCI-E
1 x GSKILL - Sniper Series 8GB PC3-12800 Dual Channel DDR3 Kit (2 x 4GB)
1 x Assemble - Assemble Hardware
1 x Arctic Cooling - MX-3 Premium Thermal Compound, 4g
1 x Sapphire - Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort
1 x Silverstone - Strider Essential 500W Power Supply

I paid to have it assembled (at Memory Express) and all I had to do was install the DVD ROM and my old SATA HD. I hooked up the monitor and turned on the PC. All the fans (video card, processor etc) worked, the SATA HD green light lit up, my DVD and HD seemed to be on, but it would not recognize my monitor. I then tried it with the onboard input and still nothing. I also tried another monitor and my hooked it up to my TV: nothing.

What could be the issue here? Is something not working on my motherboard?
