Cool New System advice
Hi guys ,

I would very much like your opinion on a new PC configuration I'm planning to purchase.

I will be using the PC for a lot of audio mixing (in Reason and Protools) and a little bit of HD video editing (in Avid) or playback.

Up front I would like know what is better in terms of memory (CL7 on 1066 or CL9 on 1600)?

  • MOBO = ASUS P8P67 (REVISION 3.1; it's an ASMEDIA USB3 controller in stead of NEC)
  • CPU = i7 2600k 3,4 gHz
  • HDD = OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB & Samsung Spinpoint 1TB
  • MEMORY = G. Skill Ripjaws F3-10666 CL7D-8GBRH x 2
  • GPU = Asus ENGTX550 Ti DC/DI/1GB5
I would very much apreciate any feedback you can give me. I would love some ideas to improve performance within a small financial margain. For instance: Could a Intel SSD improve lifetime and maintain speed?

Thanks a lot in advance !
Any tips are welcome.
