What size External Hard Drive Disk Enclosure do I need?
What size External Hard Drive Disk Enclosure do I need?

My trusty old Dell Latitude d600 finally died on me - the monitor and screen needs replaced and it would be cheaper to buy a new laptop (apparently).

I want to take the HD out to retrieve my stuff - which size of portable External Hard Drive Disk Enclosure do I need? My new laptop is a Dell Inspiron 6000 and the HD looks the same as my old one.

Do I need a 2.5" enclosure (like this one);

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB2-0-2-5...item3a68627d72

or a 3.5" size like this?;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-5-SATA-U...item4cf7a8f766

hope u can help! thanks in advance

The confusing thing is about 5 years ago I had a Toshiba laptop which crashed and was unrepairable and I had to get a External HDD Enclosure and it was a 3.5 one with separate power supply and fans......aaaargh.....just have to buy both LOL
