Talking Solved: Problem with my Dell Studio 1555
Hi there, this is my second post on this forum and i really would like someone to help me to fix this annoying problem.
Its basically where some things on my display are fuzzy.
The operating system i am currently using is Windows Vista.
It normally happens:
(1) on my desktop background
(2) on the right hand side of Internet Explorer where the Close, Maximise and Minimise buttons are.

I have enclosed a Microsoft Word 2007 document showing where the problems occur.

Please can you help me with this

Possibly a monitor fault. But those type of issues are typically video card related.

Hello,
My name is Krishna and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. To Check your LCD for any abnormailities we need to perform the LCD BIST or Built-in Self Test. To get to the LCD BIST we need to start the PSA Diagnostics. You can follow these Steps below:
1. Turn off the Computer.
2. Hold Down the FN Key on the keyboard and press the power button, then Release both buttons.
3. This should start your PSA Diagnostics
4. You will see two color bar screens appear in succession, on the second color bar screen there is a message asking you if you saw the color bars. Press the N key for No to start the LCD BIST.
5. The LCD BIST will run several full colored screens in succession with a beeping sound.
6. Check for any lines, distortions, or abnormalities you were seeing in the Operating System here.
7. Once the Diagnostics are finished you will see an Error message appear, this is Normal. Press the N Key to end the Diagnostics or Press the Y Key to continue the PSA Diagnostics.
8. If no sysmptoms were displayed please continue on to the next step, if they were displayed please go to the last step.
Also, an out of date Video Driver or BIOS can cause abnormal screen issues.
Visit www.support.dell.com and input your Service Tag to get updates specific to your computer. Hope this helps.
