Hello, one of My PC's internet has been down due to a lightning storm the other and i have figured out it is the Mini PCI-e network adapter. (must have fried)
I cant remember what the part number and everything was but the model for the computer is the P6510Y and i have set out to buy a new mini PCI-E
I was wondering if this card on amazon would be compatible for this product. I feel very sure it is, but i dont want to waste 20 bucks finding out wrong.

Is this your computer? HP Pavilion p6510y (product number WW635AA)

If it is, go here, then scroll down to "Networking", then click the + to the PCI-E mini card entry. The complete description and an image of that device will be there. It appears to be a Ralink model.

So will getting this card solve my network issue?
and by the product description its saying this is not the problem?
Would this or the integrated controller have had a better chance of being fried?

Before you spend money buying one or more components for that desktop, you should take it to a reliable computer shop and have it tested.

If you suspect the wireless mini card got fried because of a lightning storm, there's a chance that one or more other components got fried.

How would a lightning storm fry a wireless card and not anything else? Are you sure thats the problem? What exactly is happening and what have you tired?

Alright so I just found out that it at least fried the onboard LAN and not the wireless card.
in the network and sharing center it only detects the wireless card and not any kind of wired connection.
Ive been messing with it some today and it doesn't seem like anything else is fried.(odd) but my TV, cable boxes and plugs were also dead. I think i should buy a PCI-E network adapter.

A PCI-Express card would be a cheap and easy solution and makes sense. Make sure you test the modem or router as they may be fried too.
