CD-Rom doesn't recognize my data discs
Just got a used pc from a relative & the cd-rom will play my old recorded mp3 discs & store bought discs, but not any recorded as data. The internal cd-rom (Teac cd-w524e) doesn't even recognize any data discs. My old pc plays my data discs just fine. Just wondering if this is a software issue ? Does my new cd-rom require the same recording software that was originally used to burn my data discs ?

does the data disk spin up in the drive? one way around this issue is is to take the disk drive from your old pc and swap them
