Ok, I have a new build with a mushkin enhanced chronos 120gb ssd. I have two problems with it that I THINK are related.

1) My boot time in windows is over 1:30 and I have a friend with a vertex 3 and it boots in under 25 seconds! and I am supposed to have better 4k read and sequential read!

2) I ran a benchmark and found that I am getting significantly less performance then the specs say I should (eg 14,029 IOPS and I should get 90,000)

I have enabled ahci I did it before I installed windows (actually forgot to but then re-installed). I have also included screen-shots of my benchmarks and a spec sheet

You posted the ssd specs however not the rest of you specs. Post exact mb, cpu, ram, etc, etc.

HDDs: WD Caviar Blue 7200 RPM 500 GB SATA II; Segate Barracuda Green 5900 RPM 2TB; (unknown brand) 250 GB 5400 RPM SATA I (only use this one for windows backups)

I think that's It if I missing anything just say so! And this is a brand new build so I don't THINK there could be any hardware failures.

try contacting support, maybe your ssd is just AWOL

I checked and there is a firmware update; have you updated to the latest firmware for the drive?

Your board has two sata controllers; an amd one and a marvel one. You are using the amd controller correct?

Correct, I disabled the marvel one because it isn't in use. And I tried updating the firmware a while ago and it says the firmware isn't compatible with my device.

I tired the normal one here, and the dx version here and both said they were incompatible. And by the way I am like 95% sure mine is the normal one but I don't want to open my computer right now to find it.

EDIT: I found it in my device manager and it is the normal one. I'll try re-downloading the firmware, just to see if it works.

EDIT 2: This was on their website, does it mean anything? "Rated max read and write speeds are obtained
using ATTO 2.46 at queue depth 10"

EDIT 3: The exact message is "The Selected firmware package file

does not contain the firmware for the selected drive...."

LOL EDIT 4: Found this my firmware version is already 5.02 (I have included a screenshot) I also used the bench marking software that they used and it came up with the right results...How could one benchmarking software have so dramatically different results? (I have also attached a screen-shot) I guess my only problem is the extremely long boot time....

Have you tried using the Marvell Controller instead of the AMD controller?

Not sure why AS SSD results are so different from ATTO, the ATTO ones are more in-line with what the drive should be able to to do.

Your boot time is awful though for using an SSD.

How does it boot with just the ssd connected and the other drives disconnected?

Is the boot hanging at the post screen, splash screen, or the windows screen?

I have the Marvell controller disabled, I'll re-enable it and try it out when I get home.

It hangs for about 15 seconds at post (didn't used to) and about a min and a half at "starting windows" login screen comes up instantly and logs in in under a second

If you disconnect the SSD does it go through post faster? It'll come up with a disk boot failure type message but thats fine as long as that 15 sec delay is gone.

Did you try the Marvell controller yet instead of the AMD one for the SSD?

Sorry about the huge delay, I have been in a huge hassle of a switch of isps. Anyway, the post issue resolved itself somehow, and the huge boot time in windows was resolved by disabling ACHI and IDE combine mode, thanks for your help!
