Solved: Blue Screen Hardware
Windows 7 X64
6 GB Dual Channel A-Data DDR 3-1600G
CL 9 - 9 - 9 24
Voltage 1.65V
www.adata.com.tw http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211457
Western Digital Velociraptor 300GB (old)
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5
EVGA NVIDIA GTX 560 TI 1GB GDDR5
Intel I7 960

Getting BSOD Memory_Managment when taxing the GPU. Playing EVE Online Windowed at 2950 x 1000 on a 24" & a 17"
Opening VLC to watch a movie, crashed the system. Perhaps I'm spoiled but shouldn't my system be capable of such awesome processing? I tried adjusting the Timings from 1333 7-7-7-20 1.5v currently not overclocked, During earlier system instability something is still funky, is this ram actually PC12800? Checked before purchase back in 2010 with Gigabyte compatibility list.

Suggestions will definitely help.

You do not list a pw supply. Post the exact pw supply you have installed. Next post your temps and voltages; specifically the cpu temp, system temp, 12V, 5V, and 3.3V values. Since this is a gigabyte board, you can download and install easytune from the gigabyte site for your board. It will give you all of the requested info. You can also check these values in the bios under PC Health.

Have you run memtest on the system? If not, do so for at least 1~2hr to see if you have any memory errors.

I checked the gigabyte site and there are a few bios updates that address memory issues. Have you updated to the latest bios for your board?

If you are running an older bios, I would consider updating to the latest one. If you do decide to update the bios, be sure you read and FULLY understand the flashing procedure. While a bios update is not difficult [and gigabytes' dual bios makes it almost idiot proof] an incorrect or corrupted flash can render a board unbootable.

FWIW the only way I update a gigabyte board is using QFlash from within the bios. This removes windows from the task of updating the bios.

I ran the install for EasyTune 6, I get an an application error: "GUI MFC Application has stopped working"

The system runs hot from 40-44 degrees depending on the weather, its summer now I have a small AC unit. I need to replace the case and get a new cpu cooler in time.

Sys Temp 42
CPU Temp 44
MCH 44

System is stable with SPD @ 10 (1333)
CAS L T
tRCD
tRP
tRAS 9-9-9 24
Dram Voltage 1.66v
Dram Termin 0.750v

1.5v, 1.175v (I took note of these values from the bios)

CPU V Core 1.30000v
QPIVtt VOltage 1.17b
IOH Core 1.100v

The USB is not being recognized by Q-Flash, Theres a few more around here I'll try them.
I'll run memtest even though I know there will be 0 errors.

The flash drive for updating the bios must be FAT or FAT32; ntfs will not work.
Make sure the flash drive is plugged into a mb usb port and not one on a controller card, monitor, etc.

If after updating the bios, you still have problems, I would increase vdimm voltage to the max allowable ie 1.75V and retest. If it still has problems, then you might just have to accept running it @1333 and not 1600 speed.

I've successfully flashed the Bios, and set the timings and Dram Voltage to 1.75. I'm still having issues running ET6 but it could be a socket restriction in the application. It might not be compatible with x58

Machine is running stable no issues presenting blue screens or crashes.

Edit* The advanced timings section only has Dram Voltage and Dram Termination. There are no settings to change the "vdimm" unless its the same, in that case I can OC the ram to well above 1.75 volts.

I used the machine all day Sunday with out a single hiccup. It hasn't run this well in a year or more. Thank you for your time and energy crjdriver. and I even stepped up the RAM OC to 1600.

I'm looking forward to working for that new Corsair CPU cooler and a nice HTPC case from Silverstone
Good luck to you.
