You might, if not already done, move the monitor to a different computer and see if the problem follows the monitor, or remains with the other PC. If you have the ability / 2 pc's available.
I recently had a similar issue, after rebuilding a pc and replacing the video card (was slowly failing) my monitor was flickering. I thought the new video card was to blame. However, it was actually the power supply of the monitor causing the problem. Repaired and all is working proper. I determined this by swapping monitors (followed the monitor) and then swapping the power supply (brick type) and it followed the power supply.
In your description, I would lean toward a failure of the video card. Mainly because the monitor is losing video signal. However, is could also be the monitor. Hard to know. The best way to diagnose such problems is swapping out components to isolate the problem. Often that will narrow it down, and the solution is often a replacement of the entire component. |
