What is the exact problem that you are having? The video chipset is listed. The actual name displayed, can vary according to the video driver version installed.

The driver is still installed, but it doesn't appear in the device manager.
My graphics card isn't appearing and using the VGA one for some reason.

Most laptops only have a single gpu. As it's working, and you have one listed, it would appear to be working.

As I stated previously, the actual name listed for the gpu will vary according to the video drivers installed.

If the generic Windows drivers are being used for example, you will often see the gpu listed as generic name such as "VGA" or "Plug and Play". After the updated drivers are installed, the gpu will often be listed by the full model name (ie: nVidia GTX460 or whatever).

The fact that you aren't seeing the "NAME" that you expect or want to see is NOT an indication that there is a problem.

If this is a laptop, manually install the drivers from the MANUFACTURERS website.
