Hi, I bought a new monitor, an AOC, and followed the installation instructions on the box: attach to rest of system, turn on, insert installation disk, hold down monitor button for 2 seconds.
Unfortunately I then get "Input not Support" as the only message on the screen and if I push the button for another 2 seconds I get "D-sub. DV1" as a message. I tried F4 but that didn't do anything. As you can probably guess I am a rank amateur and have no idea what to do now,

Hello and welcome to TSG!!

If your computer is that old, I'm guessing Windows XP and you are using the D-sub (probably a blue D-shaped connector with 15 pins) to connect the monitor. Can you confirm, and provide a model # of the monitor? Desktop/laptop?

Thanks for your reply. It is very ancient. I managed to fix it myself by pressing F8 and then changing the monitor resolution setting. All works Ok now, but thank you anyway
