Solved: Ext. HDD software
The Nero Back it up software that is on a Verbatim 2TB ext. hdd will not do a system image. It says not on this media. Can this software be replaced. Would that help? What could be wrong?

You can use any backup software you want. The Nero Back It Up should work though, it's probably just not configured correctly.

If you are looking imaging software that makes a full usable backup image to recover from in the event of disaster then take a look at Acronis TrueImage: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing...cts/trueimage/
It can also be used to make backups of just the data, it can be scheduled, and it can backup just changes from the previous backup.

For free software, Windows 7 has a built-in backup program called Windows Backup: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-HK/w...up-and-restore
It cab make a system image too or just data backups. Not quite as versatile as TrueImage but it works, it's free, and you already have it.
