Laptop making weird beeping noise.
Every 15 or 20 seconds, I hear a soft beeping noise that seems to be coming from the laptop. I think its coming from the speakers, but its hard to tell as it is a fast beep. What is going on?

A few more details I forgot to mention. I tried turning down the volume all the way, and it still makes that noise. I plugged headphones in, and I do not hear it from them, but the speaker still beeps. The noise stops when I put the laptop to sleep.

Are your computer spec's up to date? If so, your missing some VERY important updates as in SP1 and all post updates since then?

Also can you tell us what the laptop is doing at the time of the beeping sound? What programs (if any) are running?

The sound is likely coming from your motherboard speaker...I haven't seen one on a laptop but desktops have a small one onboard the mobo that is used for POST beeps and system events.

Is there a sequence to the beeps, like Morse code? Fast beeps followed by long beeps, or vice versa?

Turns out it was my cell phone that was beeping.
