Remote Control - Corrosion in the Battery Wires Can anyone suggest any ways to remove the rust or corrosion from the little spring type wires and opposite flat pieces that hold small batteries in a remote control?
A year ago a friend used a Q tip with some type of solution in a bottle which looked like alcohol, and he was able to remove the corrosion, which at that time looked like it was from leaking batteries. Now I bought alcohol but did not have any luck getting it off. He is no longer available to ask about what he used. Radio Shack suggested using a pencil eraser, and while that helped some in the very front part of the wire spiral, the wire spiral is so tiny it is not possible to get the eraser around more than about 3% of it.
Thank you for any suggestions. |
