Red face freaky keyboard
i have a compaq presario desktop 5000pc with an easy access keyboard with the internet buttons at the top..the freaky part is that when i use some of the keys i get strange chacters like hearts and question marks, if i try to adjust my volume which is on the keyboard my computer shuts down and when i press enter my windows media player opens also none of my chacter from the top row like the dollar sign work at all....i have uninstalled and reinstalled it but it is still the same........the keyboard is fairly new can it be fixed or should i purchase a new one .......thanks

Usually the top buttons require a third-party driver, did the keyboard come with a keyboard driver floppy? If not, try finding a product number and brand on the keyboard and look up their site...they should have updated drivers for it.

With the vas majority of keyboards this won't be a problem, since Windows has keyboard drivers...However, the special buttons on some keyboards require a driver from the manufacturer...Otherwise they act goofy.
