Exclamation Disk drive shows space used but no files.
I recently had a crash and lost most everything on my drive. I reinstalled and have run some recovery programs and recovered the files that were still intact. One of my disk drives I had to reformat and I have put maybe a Gig of files back on it. Windows explorer is showing that it has 15.7 GB used on the disk but I cannot see the files except for those I have added since the crash. Can I recover the files or the space? At this time just getting the space back would be great.

There is a secondary problem that I feel certain is caused by the first. My hard drive will still is 34% fragmented after defragmentation. I just got the computer back up I would rather not reformat if I can help it. I have two drives. If I could clone the one with the problem, I might think about reformatting but I don't know how to clone the drive.

Let this little program scan your drive and tell you the location of the used space. Was there a My Documents folder that stayed on the drive?

There was nothing left. At least nothing that the computer recognized. I did run a data recovery program and got back about 10 gigs from a my documents folder but the drive doesn't show it. I could only see it in the recovery program.
