PC not detecting USB memory stick!
Please help, my PC does not detect my USB memory stick when I plug it into the USB port. I have tried both ports and nothing happens.

It was working fine last week and I have tried the USB memory stick on my laptop and its working fine there so I know the memory stick isn't corrupt!

How do I fix this problem?? HELP!!!

Ok, Go into control manager, system, device manager. Delete all USB drivers that you can (some may not let you!). Shut down and reboot twice. Your computer should recognise. Good Luck!

Go to Start>Windows Update

If you have not been on windows update before it might want to install an ActiveX control so if a security window comes up or a cream coloured bar appeares at the top click Install or Yes.

Scan for updates and install every update you can find.

Unplug ALL USB devices.
Open Device Manager.
View, Show Hidden Devices.
Uninstall all devices under USB Controllers.
Uninstall all devices under Storage Volumes. Say no to any reboot prompts until you are finished. Also, if a Storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore it and move to the next one.
If you have a yellow ? with unknown devices, uninstall all of the entries there as well.

When this is done, reboot TWICE.

Reconnect the USB devices and see if they're recognized properly.
