Solved: printer only prints part of the document
Hi,
my Apollo P-2150U prints only a portion of the document and then it stops. The power button keeps flashing indicating that the compluter is sending a document to the printer but it never seems to get there. So then if you press the power button the printer will give you the incomplete document but you also get a fatal exception 06 at 28:00000017 the current application will be terminated.
Thanks, John

Does this occur with a "user" application doing the printing, or with a Windows' PRINT function???

Sounds like a spooling error?

winbob, it happens when I want to print a page from a web site, so I'd say it's when I use the Windows' print function.

Well Darn, I was hoping it was an application problem

Did this problem magically appear, or were you printing OK before, perhaps with a different printer?

Anything unique about this printer? I'm not familiar with it.

Special Drivers req'd perhaps?

It appeared right after I changed the black ink cartridge and in the process checked the alignment as was suggested in the manual.[pick out which of several paterns was the straightest]

Hard to believe that would cause partial printing of a file???

It's got to be something else. Check the knowledge Database on the Microsoft site, maybe there is a software problem identified?

Hi Schnaz,

with Win 98 are various problems in printing Web pages.
My Epson C60 at home not print on-line, for print I download the page like "Web-Archive" and print after disconnection.

Internet Explorer is critical, Mozilla Firefox is better, more light and speed.

Apollo P-2150U is a printer manufactured from HP, and is very similar with the Deskjet 656c. For print better web pages, try of switch off spooler before print (Start / Printers Folder / Printer Properties) and search in the tabs "Print immediatly" or similar.

An other way is switch off bidirezionality, the switch is in the "Port" tab of the Properties of the printer.

Friends,
I saved a web page and then was able to print it sucessfully. Then I changed the spool setting from " spool print jobs so program finishes printing faster" to "print directly to printer" but was unable to print a web page sucessfully. When I went back to try and change the directionality setting I found that the settings that I changed regarding spooling were back the way they were.

I just want to let you all know how my problem finally got solved. I had to take the printer and computer to the shop and when I picked it up the man said that the drivers were blown, once they were reinstalled it printed. He said it could have been lightning and that even though I have a surge protector he seen a lot of damage on computers that had supposedly been protected with a surge protector.I asked him how he figured it out and he said he went to printer properties, device services, print a test page and it told him it wasn't recieving information from the computer and from experience he felt drivers was something to check. All's well that ends well, John
