Arrow Is it possible to trace a cell phone number listed as restricted?
Hi,

I'm not sure where else to post this but I figured that here would be the best place.

I need to trace a number that is listed as "restricted" on my caller ID of my cell phone.

Is this at all possible to do? Would the carrier I go through (Verizon) be able to do this for me?

The situation is that I'm being harassed by this person. At first he only called at night. Now he's calling me in the morning and at work. I have a hunch that this person works where I do but in another department. However since I have no proof of this I don't think I can mention this to the proper authorities here just yet. He did leave a very inappropriate voice mail the first time he called but since then he hasn't left a voice mail. I deleted the voice mail figuring it might have been some prank call but the calls have since kept on coming. I do not answer them and have hoped that they would give up. But the calls have been getting more and more frequent and as of today are now coming in while I'm at work.

Even if you don't know the answers if you know of any resources I can consult that would be very helpful too.

Thank you all for your help,

JFresh

As calls can me monitored by your provider, you can still go to the appropriate authorities. The police can request this on your behalf if you are recieving nuicance, abusive or threatening calls.
The can also request any information regarding the offenders details.

this is more for UK users

1> All calls are traceable, depends on what has been done and who's asking.
2> If you ring some government agencies (and the tele operator) you can not hide your CLI (calling Line Identity)

Unlike in the films, there is no time it takes to "trace" a call.
A malicous call can be traced in seconds.
Some Tele operators for big companies have a Malicious call buttong which does this immediatley

in short, make a bad call you will get caught !

this does not include ringng your loacl pizza place and ordering loads of stuuf and sending it to your boss

of course you should not do that either
