Dude, Your getting a Melted DELL
Told ya them Dell's we're Junk..lol
AN INQUIRER READER attending a conference in Japan was sat just feet away from a laptop computer that suddenly exploded into flames, in what could have been a deadly accident.
Guilhem, our astonished reader reports: "The damn thing was on fire and produced several explosions for more than five minutes".
(Wouln't it be fun to be stuck against a window seat with a 270 fat guy next to you when one of these blows up at 30,000 ft..)

The Inquirer huh? Any laptop battery has the potential to explode. There have been numerous recalls from several manufacturers for this very reason. Cell phones have also been victims of exploding batteries.

Kind of hard to tell what the laptop is with all of the flames!

I really hate when stuff like this happens, and people blame the brand.

This could've happened to any computer manufacturer. Dell, HP, Apple, Alienware, etc. Even a PC you build yourself. It doesn't matter. The problem could have stemmed from any one of a thousand outsourced parts used in hundreds of products worldwide.

I'm no advocate of Dell, and would never personally buy one, but the fact remains the true measure will be how Dell handles the situation and the steps it takes to prevent this from recurring.

Yah, The Inquirer..Are you saying the story is false or made up because it's The Inquirer And any car has the potential to crash. So your point is mute!! Not hard to tell at all what brand it is since it's a DELL !!

This is true. I'm aware of the Inq's rep. But I still believe those pixs are for real, and that particular story as well. Prove it wrong if you say it's all fake and untrue..

Gosh..... it's an inferno!....... not.
I doubt any brand of computer is as badly constructed or dangerous as the grubby little sector of the media represented by the Inquirer, et al.

LOL Aca I read your link....

It doesn't seem real that you would have a fire in a computer. We all could have died, and the house could have burned down.
Let see laptops are elecronics, electronics use electricity, electricity is but one of the causes for house fires (faulty wiring).

Now can anyone explain to me why it doesn't seem real to have a fire in a computer?

I actually am shocked you don't see more of these kinds of things happening than you do.

Where did I say it was a fake?
"Staged" maybe.
Nice little spoiling campaign?
Free story on a quiet news day?

Who cares anyway.
It's a pretty foetid excuse for a news story.
Hardly informative or enriching our lives in any way.
I detest this kind of odorous "Jackass" journalism.
That's why I don't watch TV or read newspapers any more.

I didn't say it was fake. I don't have an opinion of it one way or another.

I'm simply questioning the source. Can you find another 'more credible' news source?

I doubt AP, UPI, CNN, FOX, etc. would have missed it
