Which of the 2 is the new and which is the old?

Audio Adapter Aureal Vortex (AU8810) Sound Accelerator
Audio Adapter Ensoniq Tabor2 Sound Card

If BOTH are the old (if nehting have the same type as the new card) then go into the bios disable the onboard audio put in the card and rerun Everest.

The Aureal vortex is new; do not know where the other one came from unless built into motherboard. Can't find audio in bios..I went to advanced, what section is it under?

Do it in this order....

1) Shut down the PC.
2) Remove the newly installed card.
3) Remove ALL audio drivers from the PC.
4) Reboot the PC.
5) Disable the audio in the bios.
6) read instructions for the audio card and follow it usually its either A) install the card and then run in the setup for the drivers OR its B) run the setup for the drivers then install the card.

Multi-functional adapters: Vortex AU881- Multifunction PCI Platform

Sound, Video and Game: Vortex AU8810 Gameport Interface, Vortex AU8810 MPU-401 Interface, Vortex AU8810 PCI Audio, Vortex AU8810 Sound Blaster ProEmulation

Installation/driver guide book shows that the above are exactly what is needed for it to work, but it still does not.

Everything was installed correctely and all devices showed up; three different sets of speakers were plugged into new sound card and still nothing. So I took out sound card, downloaded different drivers for the "apparent onboard sound on the motherboard" and still nothing. So I'm at a total loss! I will now go into bios, disable the audio once again, remove apparent onboard audio, and once again install new sound card. Wish me luck or further techniques/advice would be appreciated.

Well unless pci slots are dead, I would say the new soundcard is no good either. buy.com just shipped me one that is no good, it happens!

Sound Card finally working!! But can hardly hear!
I had to install vjoyd.vxd for this stupid sound card to work, but barely does it work. The sound is there but can't increase the volume! So I'm lacking something else.
