I recently inherited this laptop, and am stuck on the suggestion to "Calibrate" the battery since there is no tab in the Power Options to do this. I've hunted thru all the places I can find, looking for the calibration option, without success. Can anyone help?
I had already tried Google, without success. I found on the Compaq (HP.com) site other instructions to calibrate the battery. Unfortunately, step 6 said to select the "DRAIN" option in the Power Options, but Drain does not exist as a choice on this laptop. Thus, I tried this forum.
You need to install the Compaq Power Management software. Go to HP's web site and look for software and drivers for the Amarda M300. You need to pick which operating system is running, and then download the appropriate version of the software.
With a laptop that old, I wouldn't expect much from the battery. They just don't last that long.
