All In One as monitor only ?
Hi everyone

I have an old All In One computer ( PC not Mac ) which I would like to use as a monitor for my daughters new computer . It must be possible ?
I could not find anything about this on the internet .
I do realise I can't just plug it in but I'm good with electrical things and don't mind soldering or changing components . So there must be a way somehow .
Any help or point in the right direction would be very appreciated .

Thank you

Sonja

Welcome

You would need to give the make and model.

There were a number of such computers made a long while ago. They all differ hardware wise.

There is nothing on the box at all , so I don't know were it came from
I just got it second hand
The motherbord is a Mercury with a Via Samuel 2 796 mhz processor
The monitor powers up but it will not boot anymore as the harddrive is broken
I do not want to run it as a computer that just sees another computer
I just would like it as a monitor
I'm in the UK

Obviously you have been inside the box.

How is the monitor video connected to the motherboard?

Digital photos may help?

Looks like a proprietary connector, sad to say.

The standard VGA is at the link below:

Chances are high that the signals will all exist but locating which is which to make an adapter could be extremely difficult?
