The issue: Sound, My sound goes fuzzy at what almost seems to be random times, but I find it to be more frequent when I’m doing multiple tasks on my computer. It started about 2 months ago when I added in a new hard drive, and transferred all my music, games, movies ect. to that hard drive. The new hard drive is a western digital 250gb SATA 7200rpm?? 2mb cashe? I can’t remember the stats, but it was a cheaper OEM drive..

My sound goes fuzzy almost like my computer is having problems processing the sound, real choppy and slows down the play time of a song even.It sounds somewhat like a heavy studder. Some times I can play 2 games, download music, and have 5 web sites up with no problem, sometimes, I can’t play i-tunes by itself without this happening. Sometimes it happens every 10 seconds, sometimes every 10 minuets. Its all sound, from games, Itunes windows media player, or websites.
- also it might just be my imagination, but the overall speed of my computer seems to be a bit slower too -

What I’ve done:
I’ve tried playing games, music ect. off of my older hard drive
I’ve put in a new sound card (updated drivers too)
I’ve tried using different speakers
I’ve de-fraged all the hard drives and ran an error check on the newer one. No issues were found.
I’ve updated i-tunes
I’ve ran a bench mark program, and came up with similar results as I had 4 months ago(before this problem)
I’ve used caned air to blow out the dust build up.

So between the new soundcard, speakers, and running sound files off of the older hard drives, im out of ideas. I did the bench mark to help rule out my processor.

Self Built
AMD 64 bit 939pin 3500+ at 2.2ghz
2Gb ram,
Win XP pro
Radeon x700 Pro Graphics card (256mb)
Hard drives (and sorry I don’t remember the specs on these better)
1. IDE 40gb, holds windows and some basic program files like internet, ventrillo, MS word, no games
2. SATA 80gb before the new one this held all my music games ect. I’ve put most everything on to the newer one, I've left some older games on this hard drive
3. 250 GB Now holds my music games, and pretty much all other big files, picutres, videos, ect.

I built this computer myself, so I’m not completely computer retarded, but I often seem to get in over my head.
And This is finally starting to drive me to the point where I need to get it fixed before I go office space on my computer.
