I have an Acer Aspire 3620 laptop. The thing is that when I type with this keyboard, it will often miss out certain key inputs or letters.

So for example, once every so often, I will type great and it show up as gret. Or when I press the spacebar, it won't input aspace.


Does anbody know how to fix this problem? It's after business hours now so I cannot contact Acer. I'm hoping to get a fix so I can use my laptop without any keyboard problems over the weekend. Thanks guys.

I too am having headaches trying to restore the a/f/r/x/4 keys on an Acer TravelMate 4652. After a little research, it appears the connector design chosen by Acer is VERY poor, and a lot of us are plagued by the same thing. One site I visited recommended removing the keyboard from the unit and re-seating the FCC ribbon running between the keyboard and the motherboard. Apparently, this is highly effective on a lot of the Acers, but it didn't fix my problem. It's a little complicated and requires carefully pulling off the plastic strip across the top of the unit, but once understood, the procedure is fairly easy. Here's the link to this procedure
