Widescreen Monitor stuck in 4:3 ratio how do I enable 16:10
Hey everyone, I just bought my first widescreen display and I set it to the native resolution 1440x900 and it left dead space to the right. In DVI mode it scrolls left and right when the mouse reaches the edges of the screen. When I put a 4:3 resolution like 1280:960 it fills the screen but is distorted. As if the display is set to display in 4:3 ratio. I can't find a setting in display options to change the aspect ratio of the monitor. Anyone have any ideas?

If just in windows, I set mine to 1440x900 when I first got this screen and that was it, sorted. The computer should detect what screen it is and enable resolutions automatically. Try installing some drivers for your screen, the computer may not be able to recognise it.

Already installed drivers, it still doesn't make any difference - it seems stuck, its just not centered. The right hand side of the screen has an extra inch or so of just dead space.

Try looking for an auto adjust button or option in the screen's menu.

I have used the auto adjust option many times but it doesn't seem to help. I've connected it with DVI and standard cables. When connected with DVI cables it scrolls from right to left when I get to the edge of the screen. But with standard cables it just gets stuck with about an inch to an inch and a quarter of dead space to the right.

I would suggest calling the LG help line and see what they have to say.
