Can't install my canon printer on my laptop I have a packard bell laptop with Windows XP operating system. I have just bought a Canon all in one printer, model MP460. It should install via plug and play so I put the CD Rom, that came with the printer, in to install the laptop. When instructed I connected the printer to the laptop via one of the USB ports and turned the computer on. The 'found new hardware wizard' page popped up, which I was expecting. But it started flashing rapidly switching between 'searching for new hardware' page and the 'found new hardware' page. Normally I would click next once the wizard has found the new hardware but it was flashing so quickly it wouldn't allow me to click next so I couldn't complete the installation of the printer. The annoying thing is that the computer recognised that the printer was connected. This has happened before when I connected an MP3 player so I'm not sure if it's the USB ports that have a problem or the hardware wizard. I would really appreciate any help with this if anyone can understand my very basic computer lingo!!! |
