Exclamation Solved: Wireless PCI Card Problem
Hello! ^_^ I have just recently purchased a Hawking Hi- Speed Wireless G PCI Card today and I've already placed it in my computer and tried to install the Drivers. I installed the utility successfully but the Driver will not install.. I went to search the Internet on my mom's computer for the drivers and found a few and tried to install them but none of them worked and the PCI card didn't come with a CD (I got it from Amazon). After I installed the utility a gray icon appeared in the task tray and I hovered the mouse over it and it said: Status: Not Exist. I guess it said that because I didn't install the drivers. I really need some help and would massively appreciate it.

You should be downloading the drivers from this site: http://www.hawkingtech.com/support/

Also go into Device Manager and try updating the drivers that way, some cards need the drivers installed first before inserting the card, but updating the drivers through Device Manager generally resolves that.

I also went there to get the drivers, but they still didn't work. Every time I extract the files from the zip files for the driver and go to the device manager and tell it to look in that folder, it still says it cannot find the files for the driver. I also choose update and that didn't work either.

Is there an installer with the file you download? What is the exact model and revision of the card you bought?

If you look here it lists 4 different revisions or releases of the HWP54G card: http://www.hawkingtech.com/support/d...=33&ProdID=149
You must choose the right one or the driver will not work.

No. All the serials in the pictures have Letter in them and mine doesn't. Mine just has all numbers which I do not see in the picture.

thank You for your help Triple6, but my mom has decided to send the PCI Card back and get a different one . The brand we got (Hawking) is obviously not a good one (we did some extra research to see if others had the same problems) and they did and never got it solved. So we're just going to buy a different brand. thank You for your help though. ^_^

Hawking is a good brand, but it seems the card you got was an open boxed item or faulty. It should have come with CD's.
