Unhappy My laptop Keyborad doesnt work.
I have a HP pavilion 2710us, since 2 months, and Windows Vista Home premium.

But I have a weird problem with my laptop keyboard. When I type the buttons, NO letters and numbers appears, besides When I push caps locks the ligth next to the button doesn´t appear.

In Control panel, I checked the keyboard hardaware, and It says that runs correctly, I updated the drivers also. and the problem remains.

I wrote this from another pc. My keyboard is useless right now

Please Help me , I use microsoft word almost everyday.

This is quite a new machine - is it not still under warranty, especially since you say it's only 2 months old (1 year Hardware Warranty with it according to HP's site)?

From what you describe, it sounds like the ribbon connection to the keyboard came loose, or the internal membrane failed. This is not something you can fix without voiding the warranty.

I would follow the suggestion of using a plug in keyboard for the time being, and give HP a yell for service.
