its probably a driver

try this

goto
control panel>
system>
advanced tab>
startup and recovery - settings>
under the title - system failure
untick - automatically restart

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;320299

now when it crashes - it will not restart and the blue screen should stay on the screen
post the info on the screen
it will give the errorcodes and a filename, if caused by a driver.

just to be clear,

comtrol panel
admin
event viewer

should be three types of event
have a look at them all and see if there are any entries for the time of the restart

I'm surprised this did not stop it restarting, hopefully someone with more experiance will answer

I would look at spyware and virus first and run a scan with www.superantispyware.com for starters. Then since we know it isn't heat next place to look is memory. Running tests wit www.memtest86.com would be a great idea. They take quite a while as you need to run at least 4 complete tests and each test has 8 passes so that could take 3-4 hours.
Then next place is to look at hard drive and run testing utilities.
